The euphemism "call of nature" suggests that going to the toilet is something inherently natural. In reality, it is a deeply social act, surrounded by infrastructure, design, shame, and privacy. Unlike animals, who act instinctively, humans turn this simple biological necessity into a cultural challenge without a truly satisfying solution.
My installation translates this tension into a sand-covered hill, dotted with humorous and surreal sculptural elements—mushrooms shaped like buttocks, origami toilet paper flowers, fulgurite-like glass tubes, and glove-plants. A hidden cave inside invites visitors to pause, rest, and reflect, while the title hints at both the euphemism and the impossibility of answering the "call of nature" here.
